so i just said fuck it and decided i would not force myself to wait to play it, and i can always go back and fill in the blanks later. or i’d have to wait like upwards of maybe a full year to play it after catching up. i really did try to catch up with the series before 8 but with the amount of other stuff i was playing on and off stream, as well as just my general low tolerance for beat-em-up gameplay, i knew it was gonna be a case where i’d either play infinite wealth on release with very little previous context to kiryu’s story…. i started gaiden but didn’t get very far as i got distracted by final fantasy.
Nope!!! to this day the only full yakuza game i played previously was 7, haha.
